News broke yesterday that stalwart defender John Terry would depart Chelsea at the end of the season having been refused a new deal to stay at the club.
However, a club statement has seemingly revealed the true extent of the situation, and it would appear that now everything is as cut and dry as it seems.
The news on Sunday shocked Blues fans, who were disgruntled at the fact that Branislav Ivanovic was recently offered a new extension on his own deal.
However, talkSPORT journalist Ian “Moose” Abrahams has shared a club statement that suggests a deal to keep Terry at the club for another year could still be on the cards.

Upon reading the statement, it certainly makes one wonder why Terry made the announcement in the first place if the situation is open to change.
