Cousin of Ligue 1 star confirms he’s on his way to EPL top-half side

The cousin of Stade Rennais midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has revealed that Watford have come to a €10.5 million agreement with the Ligue 1 side for the signing of the starlet.

Speaking to Infosport [as reported by Le Figaro], Ladji Doucoure has revealed that his relative could be on the brink of a move away from the Brittany club

According to the source, a fee over €8 million has been agreed, with reports suggesting that the final fee—should the transfer go ahead—will be closer to €10.5 million.

The Franco-Malian midfielder has featured 16 times for the Les Rouges et Noirs this season, scoring twice.

While Rennes have endured something of a troubled season—replacing coach Philippe Montanier with Rolland Courbis earlier in the month—they remain in the hunt for a unlikely Champions League spot, having profited from the struggles of Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais.

Powerhouse Doucoure has come through the ranks at Rennes, and has represented France at every youth level from U-17 to U-21, although he is yet to represent Les Bleus at senior level.
