Former Brazil international linked with shock return to Premier League

After leaving Guangzhou Evergrande, Robinho is reportedly interested in securing a return to the Premier League ahead of the transfer deadline.

The 32-year-old left England six years ago to move back to Brazil before joining AC Milan, while he has since moved to China where his contract with Guangzhou ended recently.

With his representatives currently analysing his options, it is reported that Swansea City and Leicester City are both considering signing him, according to The Daily Mail.

Although both Francesco Guidolin and Claudio Ranieri are looking to strengthen their respective squads, the fact that Robinho is available on a free transfer could ensure that he is an attractive proposition for both coaches who will be looking to avoid taking a big financial risk.

The Mail suggest that Juventus have also made an enquiry, but the Turin giants are unlikely to hold a genuine interest given the strength in depth that they already possess in their squad.

As a result, a return to the Premier League could very well be an option for Robinho, who scored 16 goals in 53 games for City after his £33m move from Real Madrid.

Having also returned to Brazil in the time since his last stint in England, it is unclear as to how much he would still be able to offer having seemingly been in decline during his spell in Milan.
