Four of the top 8 are in action on Tuesday as the Championship provides some light midweek action.
There are just four games in total although each are stand out ties.
Third play Burnley, fresh from their narrow FA cup loss to Arsenal, will be out put the pressure on Middlesbrough when they take on 7th place Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls were also dumped out of the FA cup although their defeat was more of a shock after going down to League side Shrewsbury.
New loan signing Aiden McGeady will be in the squad after he joined the club on Monday from Everton while Keiren Westwood, defenders Glenn Loovens, Daniel Pudil and midfielders Barry Bannan and Sam Hutchinson are available.
Derby County will hope for a first win in 6 games when they take on Preston North End on Tuesday. The Rams have dropped to fifth in recent weeks after losing three and drawing two of their last five games.
Manager Paul Clements is set to make changes with Marcus Olsson challenging Stephen Warnock for the left-back spot while Johnny Russell, Abdoul Camara, Craig Bryson and Irish star Jeff Hendrick will hope to feature from the start.
After a good start to their Championship season, the Rams have hit a poor run of form, however Clement is adamant they can bounce back during February, telling the Official Derby website:
“February is a massive month for us and we need to have a good and strong few weeks.
We want good performances and, most importantly, we need to get points on the board again. There’s no better time for us than against Preston at home under the floodlights. We need that illusive win now and hopefully it can give us some confidence to move forward.
It’s a busy period for us with three games and it is a chance to get ourselves on track again. We believe, looking at the games we have, that we can get points from them.”
Preston meanwhile will hand a debut to goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard after signing the keeper from WBA. Lindegaard, a former Manchester United keeper, will start ahead of another former Red Devil, Sam Johnstone. Manager Simon Grayson will be without Jermaine Beckford as they look to bounce back from their 3- 1 defeat to Brentford.
Derby will be confident going into the clash having won each of the last four league encounters with Preston although they have conceded in six of the last seven league fixtures at the IPro against the Lilywhites.
Eighth takes on 15 as Ipswich take on Reading while Wolves without a win in their last to host basement side Bolton.
