West Ham United finally found a breakthrough against a 10-man Aston Villa side just over 10 minutes into the second-half of their clash on Tuesday night.
The visitors had been reduced to 10 men after just 17 minutes as Jordan Ayew received a straight red for lashing out at Aaron Cresswell with his elbow.
With Remi Garde visibly seething on the sidelines, Villa would have undoubtedly hoped to keep things tight to start the second period in order to give themselves a chance to remain in the game and snatch an unlikely point.
However, Antonio had other ideas as he latched on to a beautifully flighted ball from Mark Noble to head home as a hapless Mark Bunn was forced to watch on as the ball nestled into the back of the net.
Another defeat would leave Villa rooted to the bottom of the table and 10 points adrift of safety as time continues to run out for Garde to mastermind an unlikely escape from relegation.
Having failed to bring in any new faces over the January transfer window, the French tactician will have to hope that he has enough within his current squad to keep their hopes alive for as long as possible.
