Man United target Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as LVG replacement

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be one of the names being considered as the new Manchester United manager, according to BBC presenter Dan Walker.

With news emerging this week that cross town rivals Manchester City are set to appoint Pep Guardiola as their new boss over the summer, United themselves are feeling the pressure to make their own high profile appointment.

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has up until now been regarded as the favourite to take over from the unpopular Dutchman, but Dan Walker has provided an update suggesting that Pochettino is now under heavy consideration.

Pochettino has transformed a struggling Spurs side into potential title candidates in just under two years at the club, and his hard work has put him in the frame for what should be one of the top jobs in world football.

However, the Argentine tactician has dismissed links with being touted to take over from van Gaal.
