Schalke starlet Leroy Sane is set to become Pep Guardiola’s number one transfer target when he finally takes over the hot seat at Manchester City, according to the Daily Star.
The 20-year-old has already attracted the interest of elbow Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, as his impressive displays in the German top flight have seen him become one of Europe’s most sought after youngsters.
Roberto Di Matteo has slapped a £40million price tag on the starlet’s head, though, knowing that interest would increase after he made his debut for the German national team back in November, and is aware that there will be a club capable and willing to cough up the fee.
“Leroy is a huge talent and I can only congratulate Germany on having a talent like him,” Guardiola recently said of Sane.
Sane, who is under contract with Schalke until 2019, has so far made 27 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring six goals.
