Man United youngster admits Louis van Gaal is difficult to work with

Manchester United full-back Guillermo Varela has admitted that club manager Louis van Gaal is a “difficult personality” to work with, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 22-year-old made his debut for the club back in December, but has found himself in the first team on a regular basis recently thanks to the club’s injury problems at the back.

However, the Uruguayan was dropped for Tuesday’s 3-0 victory over Stoke City and he has for the first time spoken about what it’s like to ply his trade under the Dutchman.

“The rumours say there is always some kind of problem with the South Americans,” Varela told Ovacion. “If I tell you the truth, I have had none. When we’ve had to talk it has been clear and stayed at that.

However, Varela added: “He has a difficult personality. Sometimes it is not so easy for the players.”
