Arsenal legend wants Manuel Pellegrini to replace Arsene Wenger

Former Arsenal legend Paul Merson has said that the club should hire the soon to depart Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini to replace Arsene Wenger when he finally moves on, he said in an interview on Play with a Legend.

The ex-England international has been impressed with the decorum shown by the Chilean tactician ever since news broke that he would be replaced by Pep Guardiola at the Etihad at the end of the season.

And not only that, Merson believes Pellegrini would be capable of doing a top job down in London in the near future.

“I honestly don’t know,” he said when asked who should replace the long standing Wenger.

“The way he’s handled himself, I would say Pellegrini of Man City.

“He’s been a credit. I mean, he could go on to win all three trophies in England and he still got the sack.”
