Arsenal midfield target Granit Xhaka ‘desperate’ to make Premier League move

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka has set Premier League sides on high alert after admitting that he wants a move to England, the Metro reports.

The Swiss international was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates during the January transfer window, and though no deal was struck and he remains in the Bundesliga, he has reiterated his desire to head for the Premier League in the near future.

“England is my dream,” he told German publication Blick.

“I do not hide it. Whether I’ll be happy there, only the good Lord knows.

“For me money is not important. Otherwise I would not move from Basel to Monchengladbach in 2012.”

And he has even hinted that he would be willing to make the move to a less high profile club in order to make his dream happen.

“What’s important if I make a change is that I make a step forward in the sport,” he added.

“I do not come from a money-hungry family, but from one with a firm character.”
