Liverpool go head to head with Barcelona for Italian international attacker

Liverpool have been quoted a price of £25million by Lazio for Italian international forward Antonio Candreva, according to the Daily Mirror.

The attack minded midfielder is believed to have made his way onto manager Jurgen Klopp’s wanted list ahead of the summer transfer window, though they may now face competitions for his signature from Spanish giants Barcelona, who reports in Italian publication Il Messaggero claim are also interested.

However, Lazio are keen to hang onto the player, who they believe to be entering his prime at the age of 28, and have sought to slap a lucrative price on his head in order to scare off any potential suitors from making a move.

Candreva has been with Lazio since 2012, and has gone on to notch up 37 goals in 138 appearances for the club during that time. He has 35 caps for the Italian national side under his belt, too, and is expected to be included in Antonio Conte’s Euro 2016 squad.
