Levante were pushing for a late equaliser when Lionel Messi raced upfield on a stoppage-time counter attack and played in Suarez, who applied a smart finish with the outside of his right boot.

Messi had a goal disallowed in each half as Barca were made to work hard for a fifth successive league win. They may never have got the breakthrough had it not been for a major slice of fortune.
Levante defender David Navarro turned a Jordi Alba cross into his own net on 22 minutes to give Barcelona the lead, but La Liga’s bottom club should be proud of the fight that they put up.
