West Ham stunned as playmaker’s agent demands £125k-per-week deal

According to reports, West Ham United have been left stunned as Dimitri Payet‘s agent has demanded a pay rise for his client.

Despite only joining the club and signing a five-and-a-half year deal during the summer, Payet’s agent has already asked the team to improve his player’s earning, according to the Mirror.

The tabloid report that the playmaker’s representative wants a £125,000-per-week deal for the French international, and the club’s hierarchy have been left stunned by the agent’s demands.

The Mirror’s report reveals that the representative’s request represents a rise of almost £50,000-per-week, and while Payet has impressed since moving to England, it’s easy to understand the Hammers’ surprise after such a request only months after terms were initially agreed.

The East London side ultimately hold the aces, due to the long-term contract the 28-year-old signed, but will they be tempted to give into the agent’s requests in order to keep Payet’s hierarchy happy?

The attacking midfielder—who left Marseille in the summer—has scored six goals and contributed four assists for Slaven Bilic’s side in the Premier League so far this season.
