Arsenal stepping up interest in Javier Hernandez ahead of summer transfer deal

Arsenal are said to be preparing to beat Premier League rivals Liverpool to the signature of Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez, according to reports in the Liverpool Echo.

The Gunners were said to be eyeing a move for the Mexican international during the January transfer window as they intensified their search for a new striker.

However, Leverkusen weren’t keen on losing him halfway through the season and refused to sell, but the Echo reports that Arsenal will go up against Liverpool for his signature at the end of the campaign.

Hernandez himself has previously stated that he has “unfinished business” in the Premier League, while Bayer have hinted that he could be sold sooner than they would like.

Having already bagged an impressive 13 goals in 17 league games, he has seen himself become one of Europe’s most in form strikers.
