Chelsea attacker linked with €15m move to China; talks have begun

According to reports in France, negotiations have begun over a potential transfer of Chelsea striker Loic Remy to China.

Le 10 Sport have reported that Shanghai Shenhua are keen on the attacker, and have made the Blues aware that they could offer €15 million to sign the attacker.

The heavyweights were one of the first Chinese Super League sides to make big-money moves for European players, and have a history of signing ex-Chelsea strikers, with both Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka having featured for the ambitious side.

Le 10 Sport continues, however, by noting that Remy himself may be the principal hold-up to a move going through, with the attacker—who currently earns €3.6 million per year at Chelsea—understood to be looking for a salary of at least €9 million to agree to switch to Shanghai.

The French source note that the Chinese side are willing to offer up to €7 million for the forward—and are willing to offer him a four-year deal—but it remains to be seen which party will be willing to compromise.

Remy has featured 10 times in the Premier League so far this season—of which one appearance has been from the start—and has scored one goal.
