According to reports, Jose Mourinho has told his friends that he’s definitely taking over at Manchester United.

The Express note that the Portuguese manager—who was disposed by Chelsea in December—is confident that he has an understanding in place with the Red Devils.

The tabloid note that the former Real Madrid, FC Porto and Inter Milan coach is so certain that he will be heading to Old Trafford in the summer, that he has told friends that he will definitely be taking over from Louis van Gaal.

The Dutch coach is in the midst of a troubled spell at United, and while the Red Devils’ form has improved in recent weeks, United chiefs appear to have given up on the idea that van Gaal could be the man to revive the club’s fortunes.

In recent weeks, Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as another contender for the Old Trafford hotseat, while club legend Ryan Giggs—currently van Gaal’s assistant—has also been mooted as another possible replacement for the Dutch coach.
