Pep Guardiola could make Man United flop his first signing at Man City

Pep Guardiola could make former Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes his shock first signing when he takes over the reigns at Manchester City, according to the Daily Star.

Valdes is currently on loan with Belgian giants Standard Liege but is out of contract with United at the end of the season and will be able to leave the club on a free transfer.

And now reports in Spanish publication Sport are claiming that Guardiola could look to reunite with his former Barcelona colleague at the Etihad.

The pair enjoyed a strong working relationship together at the Nou Camp, and should the move go ahead, the former Spanish international will join the likes of Carlos Tevez, Owen Hargreaves and Andy Cole as players that have represented both City and United in the Premier League.

Valdes, however, didn’t enjoy the best of times at United and was made to train alone after a fall out with manager Louis van Gaal.
