Did ex-Chelsea winger just confirm he wants to work with Guardiola at Man City?

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has spoken about his appreciation of Pep Guardiola, and revealed how much he loves working with the soon-to-be Manchester City boss.

Speaking to the Metro Nieuws, the former Chelsea wideman has revealed how disappointed he was to learn that the legendary Spanish coach was leaving Bayern at the end of the season, and revealed his hopes for the rest of the campaign.

“I want to enjoy the next few months and working with [Pep],” Robben began. “Hopefully we can win more trophies.

“It was hard to hear he will leave us. It’s a shame because the collaboration was perfect.”

It was confirmed on transfer deadline day that Guardiola will be taking over at City during the summer, having already confirmed that he will be leaving the Bavarian giants at the end of the year.

Carlo Ancelotti—who won the Decima with Real Madrid—will replace the ex-Barcelona coach at the Allianz Arena, while Guardiola will be charged with improving Manuel Pellegrini’s underperforming charges at Eastlands.

Various players have been tipped to be set to join Pep at the Etihad Stadium, with the likes of Pep Guardiola, Neymar, Lionel Messi, Thiago Alcantara, and Robert Lewandowski all tipped to the in the mind of the former deep-lying midfielder.

Could Robben be set to join him?

The wideman may be 32, but he is a two-time Premier League winner and as he demonstrated against Bochum in midweek—when his ‘professional’ play won a decisive penalty—he remains a potential match-winner.
