Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is said to be at the top of Chelsea summer wish list and will become a top priority when the window opens, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Blues are already looking into bolstering their options up front for next season, despite not having a long-term manager in place, and have been impressed with the Argentine’s form in the Italian top flight this term.
Chelsea bosses are aware that they have been overly reliant on Diego Costa this term, as both Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy have not proved to be effective back up options.
Furthermore, the club are likely to lose both players at the end of the season with Falcao expected to head back to parent club Monaco, while Remy is still subject to heavy interest from China.
Higuain is expected to cost Chelsea around £40million, and while they can afford the outlay, there are doubts as to whether they would be willing to cough up that much.
The 28-year-old has already turned down an offer from the Blues when they made an offer for him last summer.
