Serie A star valued at €100m ‘offers himself’ to Barcelona

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly offered his services to Barcelona ahead of a summer move, according to the Spanish media.

Catalan publication Sport, as noted by Football Italia, have claimed that the French international has made it clear that his intention is to play for Luis Enrique’s side in the near future.

While it is unclear as to whether or not there is any truth in the report, they have also argued that Barca will use the player’s desire to move to Spain in order to try and obtain a lower transfer fee with the Bianconeri previously suggesting that the star midfielder was worth €100m.

Given that the player nor his agent nor either club have made any statement on the matter, it is suggested that Sport are perhaps jumping the gun with regards to Pogba’s future.

Nevertheless, there is no denying that there was certainly interest from Barca last summer, and there were claims that the Catalan giants had reached a pre-agreement for a transfer this year.

It remains to be seen if such an agreement comes to light and Pogba completes a switch to Spain, but he will undoubtedly have his immediate focus on helping Juve win further silverware this season.

After a poor start to the campaign, the Turin side have moved to within two points of Serie A leaders Napoli ahead of their Scudetto showdown on Saturday night, while they remain in the hunt for the Coppa Italia and Champions League.

Pogba has also overcome a slow start to grow into playing a pivotal role in Massimiliano Allegri’s success, but it has yet to be determined whether or not he will be with the club for the long term future.
