According to reports, a trio of Chinese Super League sides are keen on signing Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata.

According to the Sunday People [as per the Mirror], at least three clubs from the Chinese Super League are keen on signing the Spanish playmaker.

The report notes that a handful of sides have made contact over a potential deal to sign the international, who has two years left on his current deal at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old moved to United from Chelsea in a £37.1 million deal back in January 2014 [fee as per BBC Sport], but has arguably struggled to find his place with the Red Devils.

During the final months of David Moyes’s troubled reign, Mata vied with Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney for a central role behind the striker, and was regularly shunted out to wide areas.

He scored six goals and contributed four assists in 15 showings under Moyes and then Ryan Giggs, before scoring nine and contributing four assists in 33 outings last term.

So far this season, Mata has scored four goals and contributed three assists in 26 outings, and featured for 90 minutes in United’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Sunderland on Saturday.
