Chelsea trying to beat Pep Guardiola to superb Barcelona midfielder

If Barcelona defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets is going anywhere in the future, it will likely be Manchester City to reunite with his former manager Pep Guardiola. However, Chelsea have no intentions of letting their Sky Blue rivals land the World Cup hero without getting a word in edgewise.

According to the Metro, Chelsea have expressed interest in signing the 27-year-old Spanish midfielder and will try to make a transfer offer for him at the end of the season.

Man City are still considered the leader in the chase as incoming manager Pep Guardiola was the man who gave Busquets his big break at Barcelona back in 2008.

Since making his debut for the Barcelona first-team, Busquets has made 365 appearances and was named to the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season in the 2014-15 campaign.

If they’re interested, Chelsea can send scouts across town to Emirates Stadium when Busquets and the rest of the club play Arsenal in the Champions League in the coming weeks.
