Leicester City lead Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium thanks to a Jamie Vardy penalty just minutes before the interval.
The home side dominated possession early on and had a goal ruled out as Olivier Giroud headed home, only to be adjudged offside.
Arsenal’s inability to find a goal while on top came back to haunt them as although Mesut Ozil felt as though he should have had a foul on Wes Morgan with the Leicester defender seemingly climbing all over him, his protests fell on deaf ears as play was allowed to continue with the visitors breaking at a frantic speed.
Laurent Koscielny was booked for a late foul in the build-up to the goal on N’Golo Kante, but it was Nacho Monreal who brought down Vardy in the box before the England international took full advantage and hammered home his penalty past Petr Cech.
Replays suggested that the Leicester star arguably fell into the challenge rather than being brought down, but the Spanish defender dangerously left his foot out and both Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher were convinced that it was the right decision in the Sky Sports studio at half-time.
With Leicester hoping to extend their five-point lead at the top of the table, it promises to be a crucial second half for both clubs in the Premier League title race.
