Chelsea to sell ‘several’ stars to fund bid for Serie A goal machine

Chelsea are said to be preparing to offload a number of their current crop in order to fund a big money move for Gonzalo Higuain this summer, according to reports in Spain.

The Argentine is currently enjoying one of his most prolific seasons in front of goal this term, and reports are claiming that the Blues are desperate to add him to their squad to add more firepower.

The 28-year-old is presently leading the scoring charts in Europe’s top five leagues with an impressive 24 strikes, and his presence would undoubtedly add unique threat to a forward line that has struggled for form at times this season.

Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao have only contributed a grand total of 12 Premier League goals between them so far, which has been an ongoing problem contributing towards their failed quest to maintain their title.

Costa has seen an upturn in his form recently, but he is still expected to depart Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
