Paris Saint Germain are said to be running the rule over Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson and Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic as possible replacements for veteran midfielder Thiago Motta, according to French publication BuzzSport.
However, their top target is Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets, but the Premier League pair are being lined up in case a mega money move for the Spanish international fails to come off.
Motta turns 34 over the summer, and the Ligue 1 champions are eager to find a long-term replacement, and though the club believe he may have one more season in those old bones, they want to get the jump on blooding in a player to eventually take over.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is also believed to be on their radar, but they are hopeful of being able to stump up enough cash to prize Busquets away from the Nou Camp, as they believe he would be immediately able to fill in Motta’s role.
