Bundesliga side expect exit of Liverpool, Man United transfer target but Barcelona tipped to sign playmaker

According to reports in German, Borussia Dortmund have given up on trying to tie Ilkay Gundogan down to a new contract at the club.

Bild [via Mundo Deportivo] report that while BVB have tried to convince the 25-year-old to extend his stay in the Bundesliga, Gundogan is keen to move on and try his hand elsewhere.

MD have tipped the exquisite playmaker to sign for Barcelona, and indeed, it’s easy to see why the German international—who is a creative and technically proficient operator whose passing ability could make him Xavi Hernandez’s natural successor at the Camp Nou.

However, Barca may yet face competition for the deep-lying playmaker, with the likes of Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid are all understood to be keen on signing injury-prone Gundogan.

However, Liverpool remain key contenders for the player’s signature, with Gundogan’s former coach Jurgen Klopp understood to be keen on taking the star to Anfield.
