EPL defender aggressively responds to supporter abuse; invites fans to meet him at training ground after threat

Aston Villa captain Joleon Lescott‘s relationship with his own fans as deteriorated after his infamous faux pas at the weekend.

The Villains were trounced 6-0 by Liverpool on Sunday, with Lescott and his teammates delivering a truly hapless display which all but confirms that the fallen giants of the English game will be spending next season (at least) in the Championship.

To compound matters, Villa skipper Lescott tweeted a photo of a Mercedes less than an hour after the match ended, a decision which has enraged fans who have previously questioned the former West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers defender’s commitment to the cause in the Midlands, as per the Mirror.

While Lescott insisted the photo was taken by accident, his excuses have not gone down well and the defender has received heaps of abuse on social media.

Responding to one user, the former Manchester City and Everton stopper—writing on his j.p.lescott Instagram handle—has urged one ‘fan’ to make true his threat and meet the Villa player at training.

“I am at the training ground tomorrow,” Lescott began. ” PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come down and try. FACT YOU WONT.”

Hardly becoming behaviour of a Villa skipper, although it remains to be seen for how long Lescott will hold onto the armband at the Midlands club.
