Pato is seen running away from defender Branislav Ivanovic, who appears to be on the same side as the Brazilian – judging by the colour of their bibs.

Chelsea signed Pato from Corinthians on January 29, but he has yet to make his debut for the Blues.

That debut could well come on Sunday when Manchester City visit Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup.

A cup game seems like an ideal opportunity to give the Brazilian his first taste of English football, especially as City boss Manuel Pellegrini is planning on playing his “second string”, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea’s trip to MK Dons, where they won 5-1 in the last round, may have been a slightly more suitable occasion for Pato’s debut, but that game fell just two days after his arrival.

If Pato does start against City, it will give Blues manager Guus Hiddink the chance to rest Diego Costa, who has been in Chelsea’s first XI in each of their last ten matches in all competitions.
