Video: Chris Brunt hit by coin as West Brom CRASH OUT of FA Cup; midfielder has altercation with FURIOUS fans

After conceding three goals in the final 31 minutes to lose their FA Cup match to lowly Reading, it was understandable that West Bromwich Albion fans in attendance would be upset. What was inexcusable though was the behavior they displayed, and West Brom veteran Chris Brunt took the brunt of their anger.

At the end of the 3-1 loss to Reading, Brunt was pelted in the face with coins by frustrated West Brom fans. The assault led to a heated exchange between Brunt and some fans, who the 31-year-old back had initially gone over to thank for supporting the team in the loss.

The video was posted on Twitter by Lewis Ross:

West Brom took a 1-0 lead at the 54′ mark, only for Reading’s Paul McShane to equalize a mere five minutes later. At the 72′ mark, Chelsea loanee Michael Hector took the lead for the second-tier club. Lucas Piazon gave the Royals the lead for good at the 90′ mark to send the club to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

After behavior like that from West Brom’s so-called fans, one has to wonder how the team will respond…
