Copa America Centario: Arsenal superstar takes on Man City scoring machine after owning him in 2015

2015 was arguably a better year for Arsenal and Chile striker Alexis Sanchez than Manchester City and Argentina forward Sergio Aguero. While the Arsenal superstar may have ran away with the silverware in 2015, the two elite strikers will face off again in the group stage of the upcoming Copa America Centario tournament.

In yesterday’s draw for the Copa America Centario, Group D leader Argentina drew fifth-ranked Chile, along with Panama and Bolivia. Argentina and Chile are scheduled to play against each other at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on June 6.

Between club and country, Sanchez won the FA Cup title in England and the Copa America tournament, beating out Aguero’s nation to take the top prize in CONMEBOL, and watched as his Arsenal team shredded Manchester City in their two Premier League fixtures throughout 2015.

Though Argentina are the No. 2 ranked team in the world – featuring such world talents as Aguero, Lionel Messi, Marcos Rojo, Angel Di Maria and Javier Mascherano, the nation has found titles hard to come by these last few years, failing to win a major competition since the 2008 Olympic Gold Medal in China. They finished as runner-ups behind Germany in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Chile, on the other hand, won their first major tournament by beating Argentina on penalty kicks in the Copa America this past summer.
