REVEALED: The reason why Mourinho’s holding off on Man United move as fans are made to put up with van Gaal

According to reports, Louis van Gaal’s ongoing stay of execution at Manchester United is exclusively due to the fact that Jose Mourinho is unwilling to move to the club in midseason.

The Dutch manager is overseeing a miserable reign at Old Trafford, and while he managed to secure a return to the Champions League for the Red Devils last season, he has failed to build on that success. Indeed, this term, United were dumped out of Europe’s premier club competition in the first round, and currently sit six points behind rivals Manchester City in the hunt for the final UCL qualifying spot.

Mourinho, who was axed from his post at Chelsea at the end of 2015, has long been tipped to be LVG’s successor at Old Trafford, although according to the Mirror, United fans will be made to wait for the Portuguese manager’s arrival.

The tabloid has revealed that Mourinho is unwilling to move to United in midseason, and thus will be waiting until the summer before taking the reins at the club.

While the news may come as some encouragement for Red Devils fans, with news that Mourinho has set a date for his arrival, but it does mean that the club’s supporters will have to put up with van Gaal for a few more months to come!
