Leicester City goal video: Riyad Mahrez blasts Watford with a stunning strike

Posted by

Riyad Mahrez has been a frontrunner for the Premier League MVP award and for good reason: he’s one of the leading assist producers for Leicester City and has double-digit goals. Mahrez continued to add to that stellar resume with an unbelievably well-placed strike to give the Foxes the lead in a crucial away game against Watford.

Leicester City and Watford were tied 0-0 for 55 minutes when Mahrez finally saw a slight opening and took his shot. Almost as if it was guided by a computer, the shot sliced through several defenders and into a narrow gap between the post and Watford goalkeeper Gomes to hit the back of the net.

As of writing Leicester City lead Watford 1-0 and can become the first team in the league to reach 60 points with a win – also giving them a five-point cushion in the process.

Should the Foxes pull of the remarkable feat of winning the Premier League, Mahrez’s name will undoubtedly be on the short-list for the MVP award.
