Chelsea and Everton were unable to find a breakthrough in the first half of their FA Cup encounter at Goodison Park on Saturday, with Diego Costa unsurprisingly risking a red card.
The Spaniard’s temperament has been questioned throughout his time with the Blues, and it was again brought to the forefront of proceedings on Saturday as he clashed with Gareth Barry.
Having picked up a yellow card, it remains to be seen whether or not he is able to keep his temper in check in the second half, with Guus Hiddink undoubtedly having to monitor him in the opening stages of the second period.
With both sides lacking quality, chances have been at a premium with a Willian free-kick the best effort from the visitors while Tom Cleverley has forced Thibaut Courtois into action on a couple of occasions.
However, in what has been a relatively uneventful opening 45 minutes, the tensions between the two sides appear to be the main talking point with eyes certainly on Costa with the Everton backline potentially looking to rile him in order to get a reaction.
