Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho scored a decisive goal for his side against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Anthony Martial had given the hosts the lead to halve Liverpool’s aggregate lead to 2-1, and United looked comfortable and in the ascendency for the most part after a much improved performance in the opening 45 minutes compared to last week.
However, all that was thrown out the window as Coutinho swung the tie massively in favour of Jurgen Klopp’s men with a goal just seconds before the end of the first half.
The Brazilian did brilliantly to break free of Guillermo Varela down the left hand side before producing a sublime finish to beat David De Gea.
In turn, that goal changes everything in the tie with Liverpool now leading 3-1 on aggregate with a crucial away goal that means United now need to score three goals in order to ensure that they are in the hat for the Europa League quarter-final draw on Friday.
