Chelsea plotting summer transfer raid on Premier league rivals

According to the Mirror, Chelsea have made Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante one of their summer transfer targets and will launch an approach to sign the 24-year-old the end of the season.

The energetic powerhouse has arguably been the revelation of the Premier League season, and his powerful box-to-box displays in the heart of the Foxes’ midfield had been critical to Claudio Ranieri’s side’s unlikely title tilt.

Indeed, there’s every chance that Kante will end this, his first, season in England with a wholly unexpected EPL winner’s medal, with Leicester currently sitting top after 30 matches on 63 points, five more than second-place Tottenham Hotspur.

Kante was signed from unheralded Ligue 1 side Caen in the summer, but alongside Danny Drinkwater in the heart of Leicester’s midfield, has quickly established himself as one of the Prem’s finest.

He received a maiden call-up to represent France at international level on Thursday when he was named in Didier Deschamps’ Bleus squad for their upcoming friendlies, and his soaring career trajectory could be set to go to the next level this summer.

According to the Mirror, the Blues are ‘massive fans’ of the midfielder and are keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
