Video: Harry Kane double fires Tottenham into early lead against Bournemouth to reignite title hopes

Harry Kane bagged a superb first-half double as Tottenham Hotspur put Bournemouth to the sword at White Hart Lane as they look to close the gap to Leicester City.

The Foxes beat Crystal Palace 1-0 away on Saturday to move onto 66 points with only seven matches of the season left to play, placing the onus back on Spurs to keep pace with Claudio Ranieri’s unlikely leaders.

Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton also increased the pressure on Tottenham, with the Gunners moving to within three points of their fierce local rivals.

Any pressure certainly didn’t show for Mauricio Pochettino’s Lillywhites, as they tore into the lead at White Hart Lane, with Kane opening the scoring after finishing from close range following a fine cross from Kyle Walker.

Kane doubled Spurs’ lead 15 minutes later—and bagged his 21st goal of the season—when he finished with aplomb after being played in by Dele Alli.

Any doubts about whether Kane—who scored 21 for Tottenham last term—was a one-season wonder have surely been dismissed as the England international continues to find the net with unswerving regularity.

Christian Eriksen added a third in the 52nd minute as Spurs surely took the clash beyond Eddie Howe’s Cherries.
