According to beIN Sports, Stade Rennais have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the the transfer of forward Ousmane Dembele.

The report states that the 18-year-old attacking midfielder will be loaned back to the Ligue 1 outfit next season, before joining Bayern’s roster in the summer of 2017.

Dembele has been one of the stand-out stars of the French season so far this term, helping Rennes into contention for Champions League qualification, with the Brittany club currently sitting up in fifth place.

The youngster currently sits joint-eighth in the division’s scoring charts, having found the net 10 times in 19 league outings, of which 15 have been starts.

He’s also contributed five assists—a superb record for his breakout campaign.

News of Bayern’s agreement with Rennes may well come as bad news for both Manchester City and Barcelona, with the pair having been linked with the teenager in recent weeks.

Earlier in the month, the Daily Mail reported that City were primed to compete with Europe’s elite clubs for the youngster’s signature, while France Football have also reported that Rennes rejected a €35 million bid from Barcelona for the teenage sensation.
