Ex-Arsenal star playing for rival calls potential Gunners return ‘very difficult’

It was a rather messy divorce between Cesc Fabregas and the Arsenal fans who once called him their hero after he chose to accept a £26 million transfer deal with arch-rival Chelsea. While many angry fans no doubt still harbor resentment for the former Arsenal captain, Fabregas believes that a reunion is possible albeit unlikely to happen.

During a recorded ‘Q&A session‘ with former Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique, Fabregas said that a potential move to Arsenal before his career is over would be ‘very difficult’ but stopped short of calling it impossible.

Fabregas played the first 212 games of his senior career at the Emirates, scoring 57 goals and numerous accolades before taking the captain’s armband from William Gallas in 2008.

In 2011, Fabregas made a transfer to Barcelona and played four seasons at Camp Nou before angering nearly all of his supporters back in London by signing with Chelsea in 2014. He ultimately served as a key player for the Blues in their dominating Premier League title run in the 2014-15 season.
