Pep Guardiola targeting Arsenal star midfielder for Man City transfer

When Pep Guardiola takes over at Man City next season he apparently plans to bring one of his rivals’ best players with him to the Etihad. If he gets his way, Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be on his way out of London.

According to the Daily Star, Guardiola has identified Oxlade-Chamberlain as one of his top transfer targets in the summer transfer window.

Despite making over 100 appearances for the Gunners since the 2011-12 season, he has struggled to maintain a spot on the starting XI. Nonetheless, the English midfielder is still widely praised for his potential.

Per the source, Oxlade-Chamberlain is part of four-man shortlist that also includes Everton defender John Stones, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and Atletico Madrid centre-back Aymeric Laporte.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has significant Champions League experience though, which would likely be valuable for Pep if Man City secure a spot in the tournament next year.
