Work permit issues could scupper Liverpool’s attempts to sign Bundesliga winger

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Stuttgart winger Filip Kostic.

The Liverpool Echo cites Bild as reporting that the Reds have scouted the Serbian, who is most comfortable on the left and has scored eight goals in 56 appearances for Stuttgart.

However, Bild adds that Liverpool could experience some work permit issues if they attempt to bring Kostic, who only has six caps for his national side after his 2015 debut, to Anfield.

Wingers may be on Jurgen Klopp’s radar this summer. Liverpool have a few promising youngsters in this area – Jordon Ibe and Sheyi Ojo – but no natural wide men with first-team pedigree.

Kostic might not be of the marquee stature of Mario Gotze or Lucas Moura, tipped for moves to Merseyside by The Independent and The Express respectively, but will be familiar to Klopp.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss has already shown a willingness to return to the Bundesliga market for talent by agreeing to sign versatile Schalke defender Joel Matip at the end of this season.
