Chelsea set sights on Milan super-starlet as Courtois replacement

Thibaut Courtois has been receiving significant interest from major clubs and Chelsea may find themselves hard-pressed to retain the Belgian goalkeeper in the near future. If Antonio Conte wants the position tied down for the foreseeable future than tapping into Serie A could be a good move for the Blues, and it appears that AC Milan stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma could be the club’s first choice.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are targeting Donnarumma as a replacement for Courtois should they lose him in the summer. Per the source, Real Madrid are currently eyeing Courtois after deciding to move on from Man United’s David de Gea.

Donnarumma is one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe, already making 22 appearances for AC Milan and being the the youngest goalkeeper ever to start a match in the history of Italian football, after playing all 90 minutes of a 2-1 win against Sassuolo when he was 16 years old.

The Daily Mail noted that Donnarumma would likely cost Chelsea around £30 million.
