Liverpool plan to capitalize on Spurs mistake and land quality forward

The Spurs’ loss could very well be another team’s gain after the second-place Premier League team failed to secure a transfer deal for Fulham forward Moussa Dembele this past winter. Unfortunately for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, it looks like one of their rivals for English supremacy could be the one to make them pay for falling short.

According to the Daily Express [per FOX Sports], Liverpool are planning a summer move for Moussa Dembele and could very well succeed where the Spurs failed. The 19-year-old Dembele has scored a career-high 14 goals in 37 competitions for Fulham this year.

Liverpool are set to be in the market for young strikers this summer with the futures of Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke in question. Should Jurgen Klopp sell one of the star strikers, Dembele would likely be an affordable and coach-able replacement for the two inconsistent stars.

The French forward has also earned three caps for the national Under-20 team.
