Chelsea target responds to speculation linking him with move to Stamford Bridge

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has insisted that he hasn’t spoken to any clubs amid growing speculation about his future and links with Chelsea.

According to the Evening Standard, the Belgian international is reportedly considering a move to London but his latest comments on Twitter have suggested otherwise.

“I haven’t talked to any club,” Nainggolan posted on his official Twitter profile. “Why would I discuss that with my friends? Forza Roma, and Forza Belgium for tonight!”

It had been claimed that Nainggolan had told friends that he was considering a move to the Premier League, but he has moved swiftly to deny those suggestions and is evidently happy in the Italian capital.

Antonio Conte, who is widely expected to become Chelsea’s new coach in the summer, as reported by The Express, is an admirer of the combative former Cagliari midfielder, and has reportedly made him one of his top targets for when he arrives at Stamford Bridge.

The current Italy boss has yet to make an official announcement on his next move in coaching, although it has been confirmed that he will leave his post with the Azzurri when his contract expires after Euro 2016.

As the wait continues for word on Conte’s future with Chelsea, the Italian tactician will be fully focused on the task in hand as he leads his side to France this summer.

However, rumours continue to claim that he is already planning his moves at Stamford Bridge, and that involves bolstering his midfield.

Nainggolan would undoubtedly be a great fit for the Premier League given his characteristics, and it is no surprise that Conte has been linked with an interest given his history of having hard-working and physical midfielders at his disposal.

Nevertheless, he could be left disappointed based on the tweets sent out from the Roma man, although there is still plenty of time for the situation to change ahead of the summer transfer window.
