Gary Neville has rejected the chance to make an immediate return to his role with Sky Sports after being sacked by Valencia, according to the Daily Mail.

The Manchester United legend was axed from his first managerial job on Wednesday after leading Valencia to only 10 wins from his 28 games in charge.

The Daily Mail reports that Sky Sports have asked Neville to rejoin their punditry team, but that the 41-year-old will stay in Spain to consider his options.

Neville’s family are living in Spain and he intends to focus on England’s Euro 2016 campaign before deciding whether to come home, the Daily Mail adds.

However, the Daily Mail understands that Neville has not ruled out working again for Sky Sports after making a name for himself as a world-leading pundit.

The former England right-back earned rave reviews for his insight and analysis, and struck up a popular partnership with ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
