Liverpool given get out of jail card as Mario Balotelli receives whopping China offer

Liverpool may have found somebody to take Mario Balotelli off their hands on a permanent basis.

Italian publication Il Milanista claims that the striker could receive a monster offer from Jiangsu Suning after talks took place between Balotelli’s representatives and the Chinese Super League club.

Il Manista reports that Suning would be willing to pay the 25-year-old a whopping £11.8m a year, and that Liverpool might even consider allowing him to leave for free if a transfer fee becomes an issue.

That is a measure of just how disastrous Balotelli’s £16m move to Anfield has been – fee confirmed by the Daily Star. He scored four times in 28 games for the Reds, only once in the Premier League.

He was shipped off on loan to former club AC Milan last summer, but the San Siro giants are unlikely to want to re-sign the troublesome forward full time after a return of one Serie A goal in 14 games.

Thankfully for Liverpool, there is more money than sense in the Chinese Super League, which has embarked on an ambitious and expensive recruitment drive to try to raise the profile of the sport.

Ex-Chelsea midfielder Ramires, former Arsenal forward Gervinho and Colombia striker Jackson Martinez are among the established names to have headed for the Far East in recent months.
