The top two in the Championship will go toe to toe this weekend as Brighton welcome leaders Burnley to the Amex Stadium.
The lunch-time kick-off is sure to provide plenty of entertainment with both sides in good form of late. Brighton are unbeaten in 6, winning four and drawing two.
The Seagulls have scored 13 and conceded just once during that run of results.
Burnley meanwhile are unbeaten in 10 games winning four of their last five. Their form has moved them four clear at the top of the table and they are well on course for a return to the Premier League.
Look ahead to the clash, Brighton manager Chris Hughton wants his side to make a statement. The Seagulls have climbed into the top 2 in recent weeks after a good run of form and will move to within a point of the leaders with a win.
Speaking on the FL72 podcast ahead of the game, the former Newcastle manager wanted his players to go for the three points, telling reporters “There’s only one ambition going into the game and that’s to try and win it. We know we’ll have a great support behind us. “
“The fact it’s a sell-out on Saturday is a reflection of the theme this season and I think they [the fans] have enjoyed what the players have given them.
“What we want to do is pay them back in a way that sees us hopefully getting the win that we want to get.
“It’s a statement if we were able to get the victory. One thing I’ve been conscious of all season is how tough this division is.
“We saw that with Hull and Middlesbrough where they both went through spells when you almost couldn’t see them losing another game, they were that strong.”
Hughton will have Gaetan Bong in the starting line-up for the first time in five months after a thigh injury has kept him out of action since October, however Uwe Hunemeier (groin) and midfielder Solly March (knee) are still sidelined.
Burnley meanwhile will be without winger Scott Arfield after he was injured on international duty with Canada while Ashley Barnes could be in the squad as he edges closer to a return following a 90 minute run out behind closed doors in midweek.
