Leicester City secured a 1-0 win over Southampton at the King Power Stadium on Sunday, allowing them to open up a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
After Tottenham were held at Liverpool on Saturday, Claudio Ranieri’s men knew that they had a great opportunity to open the gap between themselves and their title rivals.
While Arsenal remain in contention following their 4-0 win over Watford, the Gunners were also dealt a real blow as Leicester continued their impressive form as they are now unbeaten in their last six games, winning five of those by a 1-0 scoreline.
Morgan was the hero on this occasion with Fraser Forster doing brilliantly to deny the hosts a more comfortable afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to inspire the Saints to pick up a positive result.
As for Leicester, they now boast a seven-point lead with just six games remaining this season, as they now look ahead to visiting Sunderland next Sunday hoping to maintain their current form which in turn will see them move closer to winning a shock Premier League title.
