Chelsea hoping to get Antonio Conte the best goalscorer in Italy

With Antonio Conte heading to Stamford Bridge after Euro 2016, the Italy boss will no doubt be looking to bring in plenty of his own players, many of whom he has a history with. Topping the list of Chelsea targets will be some of the best Serie A stars and there might not be a more highly-valued target than Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain – who Conte coached against multiple times during his time at Juventus..

According to Transfer Tavern, Conte is believed to be highly interested in bringing Higuain into the fold and Chelsea are planning a transfer bid for the Argentine scoring machine. Higuain could easily replace any number of Chelsea strikers, even the trouble-making Diego Costa.

Higuain currently leads all Serie A players in scoring, making 30 goals this season – more than any two other goalscorers in Italy combined. He has scored 85 times for Napoli over the past three years and scored 121 goals for Real Madrid from 2006 to 2013.
