Barcelona superstar reveals who’s the best player at the Camp Nou, overlooks top scorer

Somewhat predictably, Neymar has name-checked Lionel Messi as the best player at Barcelona.

Luis Suarez may be enjoying arguably the most remarkable season of his fine career, but according to his fellow forward and co-MSN hitman, Messi remains the team’s outstanding individual.

“What I like about Barcelona is that there are great players here,” the Brazilian forward began, speaking to La Liga’s official website in an intimate interview.

“Messi is the best,” he continued, “but Dani Alves is my best friend.”

While Argentine superstar Messi gets the nod ahead of his fellow teammates, Suarez can certainly make a great case for being the Catalan giants’ outstanding individual this season.

While Messi has scored 22 goals in the league, Suarez has already bagged 26 in La Liga. Similarly, in terms of assists, Suarez’s 12 eclipse Messi’s 10.

Indeed, Messi’s stats only just edge him ahead of Neymar, having scored one goal more and contributed the same number of assists as his fellow South American.

Intriguingly, Suarez has also outperformed Messi in the Champions League, having scored eight goals and contributed three assists in eight UCL outings, compared to six in six and one assist for Messi.
