Man City: Pellegrini issues update on future as rumours swirl

Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini has issued an update on his future, amidst rumours that he has discussed a possible move to other clubs.

The Citizens confirmed on transfer deadline day that the Chilean coach will be replaced by current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola at the season’s end.

While Pellegrini has won the Premier League title and two League Cups during his time with the Sky Blues, the former Real Madrid, Villarreal and Malaga coach has arguably failed to get the most out of a talented squad.

However, while Guardiola certainly has much work to do when he arrives this summer, with the Citizens not yet guaranteed a spot in next year’s Champions League, Pellegrini has retained much of his reputation and, as noted by the Express, has been linked with various other clubs when his time at the Etihad Stadium comes to an end.

However, speaking ahead of City’s home game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, Pellegrini has insisted that he is yet to discuss a potential move with any new club.

“I said on February 1 that I will decide at the end of the season,” Pellegrini began, as noted by the Express [as above]. “At this moment I am not thinking or having conversations with anyone. So the speculation can continue.”
